You Are Welcomed!

Welcome to the New Hope Baptist United Church of Christ website! We are a new church and a church for all people. Located in Prince George's County in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. we believe that God still speaks prophetically.

We are a welcoming, justice-minded Christian community. As a Stillspeaking church, we believe that God is all-loving and inclusive. Stillspeaking is the shorter form of "God is still speaking," a campaign by the United Church of Christ to remind us that God still has a lot more to say. We believe that faith is still relevant and extend an extravagant welcome to all. No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here. At New Hope, we believe that diversity -- in terms of race, age, gender, sexuality, income, ability, background and in other ways -- is a gift from God that makes us all stronger and helps us to grow in our faith. We embrace you lovingly, warmly, sincerely and enthusiastically!

At a time when religion is too often portrayed as narrow-minded and exclusive, we are raising our voices for an alternate vision in Prince George's County. God has called our Pastor, the Reverend Kenneth H. King to lead a ministry where we affirm that the teachings of Jesus are testimonies that all are entitled to a seat at God's banquet table, where there is plenty good.
